About this artwork
A dynamic abstract formed by layers of distressed paint and paper by artist Margriet Hogue. Black and white play a balanced dance of depth and movement. Bands of ochre and thin lines of red appear at the outer edges. Margriet starts her process with layers of paint and paper that have been conditioned through sanding and scraping. She then adds more paint and draws patterns with ink. Finally, she finishes with a layer of UV varnish and cold wax which has been buffed.
