About this artwork
This piece was made in the spring and the colors are reminiscent of it, in particular the fresh greens, says artist Margriet Hogue. To give the surface an aged appearance, Margriet repeatedly layered various handmade papers, which she then painted over, sanded, and scraped to develop the character of the piece.
