Lemons and a rose from my own garden provided the subject for this piece of direct painting -- nothing is as inspiring as the colors of natural fruits and flowers.

This painting is varnished on gallery-wrapped canvas.  The sides of the painting are painted warm white and it comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Ann

Ann’s artistic career has been an adventure in many styles of painting. She began with science and botanical illustration, followed by an exploration of portraiture and figure painting, and then pursued plein air landscape painting. Ann is now focusing on small impressionist still lifes, while continuing to experiment with landscapes and abstraction on the side. “My biggest obstacle as a painter is my fascination with doing new and different styles and media,” she says. “It is an ongoing struggle and adventure.” However, she has discovered pure joy in still life. The artist finds spending time with fresh fruit, vegetables, and flowers a treasured opportunity for true observation.
