About this artwork

A frail man lies in bed, his limbs resting across pale blue sheets as an angel and a devil hover on either side. The scene draws inspiration from kitsch postcard imagery of the 1950s, where a common motif depicts a dying or deceased figure at the crossroads of heaven and hell. In these interpretations, an escort guides the soul toward the "other side," shaped by the life lived.
