Jakki Kouffman
Butchart Gardens Reverie
About this artwork
Lush gardens abound in the Pacific Northwest, especially at Butchart Gardens, a former limestone quarry on Vancouver Island. In spring, cherry blossoms, azaleas, and countless tulips fill the grounds, framed by a wall of tall, dark conifers. Contrasting warm and cool colors, along with light and shadow, create a lively interplay that inspires both visitors and artists. Artist Jakki Kouffman captures this energy through a delightful frenzy of pastel marks.
Jakki recommends framing the piece under glass for protection.
