About this artwork

Golden fields and evergreen forests stretch in multiple directions, capturing the energy of autumn in the countryside. Shifting viewpoints add movement and depth to the scene. Artist Rob van Hoek used the back of a paintbrush, cotton swabs, and kitchen paper to create textured marks. The title comes from a Calexico song, following the artist’s tradition of drawing inspiration from lyrics.
