About this artwork
This painting has traveled with me through six moves and four cities, shares artist Agata Kijanka. It's a very slowly transforming piece that evolved over twelve years. I added various textures using molding paste squeezed through fine metal sheeting, flower-shaped collage elements embedded in paint, scratches, and more. It wasn't until I started applying and removing oil and cold wax to what would eventually blossom into this colorful, uninhibited, and dramatic piece, that this painting started to quickly find its destined form.
