About this artwork
Artist Hope Rambo presents a beautifully orchestrated fusion of images in one frame. I created this painting by overlaying three images together, shares Hope. A poster from 1889 of the Universal Exposition Fair in Paris, a Jules Cheret illustration from 1897 for the Folies Bergeres, and a photograph of Korean supermodel Hyun Ji Shin. Hope uses photo editing software to merge photographs. She gradually blends them into one multi-layered image and uses them as references for her works.
