About this artwork

While in Oslo, artist Nicholas Robertson talked to the soldiers of the Norwegian King's Guard at the Royal Palace. He explained that he had painted the Danish Guard and would like to do the same with them. They were relaxed and accommodating. Nicholas took a photographs as a reference for the uniform, especially the odd bowler headgear with a large black feather.
