About this artwork

"My mom gave my wife and me several cast iron pans of various sizes," says artist Dwight Smith of the setup for this realist still life. "I enjoy cooking with them, and using them for painting. The bright red apples pop resting inside of the pan. A lot of butter with spices and we are ready to cook."
