About this artwork

Salvaged and reclaimed pieces of wood come together in this sculptural puzzle. Various types of wood, driftwood, yardsticks, colored domino blanks, Montessori counting sticks, and hand-sanded blocks create a colorful mosaic. This artwork explores the interplay of shadow and light, the contrast of new and old, and themes of decay and renewal. Ultimately, it depicts the irony found in the harmony of an oxymoron.
