About this artwork

This painting was inspired by the dramatic lighting and shadows receding into West 14th Street at sunset, says artist Nick Savides. The sun is low in the sky, casting an orange glow on the buildings and High Line, seen from below. The streets are empty due to the coronavirus, except for an occasional pedestrian.
