About this artwork
This painting on paper is one of my first artworks exploring the indirect painting (impasto and glazings in many layers). Lights are painted in a thick layer of paint, so you can see the brushwork marks in the painting. It suggests a three-dimentional foreground. Shadows are painted in more than 5 glazings that suggest a three-dimentional background. Glazings are made using a medium made by me with professional high-quality materials (Dammar varnish, Stand oil and Rectified Turpentine). It is made with professional high-quality oils (Old Holland, Maimeri Puro, Sennelier extra-fine, Michael Harding). The painting is made on a professional acid-free paper (Fabriano Tela 300gms). It is varnished with Gamvar, a high-quality varnish made by Gamblin Colors Co. and developed in collaboration with the National Gallery of Art.
