About this artwork

In the mid-1930s, a design concept called streamline emerged, extending from cars to kitchen mixers. Initially emphasizing power over aesthetics, steam engines joined the trend and adopted a more stylish appearance, much like the steel train depicted in the painting. However, they eventually reverted to their original simple and practical look.
