In the late afternoon, just after the golden hour, the backlights are on as well as all the lights in my friend's house, explains artist Mitchell Freifeld. They have even turned on the light in their excellent example of a classic mid-century kidney-shaped swimming pool, so that everything glows all shades of blue on this midsummer's eve.
