About this artwork
Lulu Belle was once a proud shrimp trawler working the Gulf of Mexico,says artist Fernando Soler. Today she is relegated to fishing the same waters where she once ruled the fleet. Part of his signature series of nautical scenes capturing the watercraft, wildlife and landscape of his native Florida. He regularly travels, making sketches, taking notes and shooting photographs to later reference in his studio. The result is detailed, intimate paintings that radiate the stunning light and tropical breezes of the Sunshine State.
