About this artwork

A woman turns her head slightly, revealing a softly blurred profile and an intricately styled bun. Gentle, blended brushwork softens her features and auburn hair. A simple necklace rests along her neckline. Artist Nicholas Robertson referenced a female wedding guest at Hackney Town Hall in London for this piece. He sat directly behind her throughout the service and became fascinated by the arrangement of her hair.
