About this artwork

When starting a work the most overlooked detail is the size of the canvas, says artist Benjamin Thomas. He explains why the size of his canvases has recently decreased. The work process can flow or become a struggle to complete. Having the right size brush, or the right amount of paint on the canvas for textures all return to the size and concept of the image. This painting needed a solid square for the image to sit in for all the elements to work in harmony.
