About this artwork

The sculpture depicts a couple in a tight embrace. The man wraps both arms around the woman's lower back, drawing her in. She leans into him, one knee softly bent. Their heads tilt towards each other, conveying their connection. In this artwork, artist Cristobal Corbeaux reflects on the quiet calm of finding a place that welcomes us without masks—a refuge where we can be fragile, imperfect, and open. In that space, we let go of fear and show ourselves as we are, without hiding or pretending. And in that honesty, we discover something essential: vulnerability does not weaken us; it makes us more real, more human.
