This intimate painting depicts an interior of Le Procope, one of Paris's most famous restaurants. Using a limited palette and decisive brushwork, Faye creates an ambient environment that draws you in , inviting you to linger awhile. The china and glassware dazzle from the light of the crystal chandelier and wall sconces. I noticed the couple seated at the corner table, says Faye, and imagined they were meeting after many years. I love creating a narrative in a painting, it's so romantic.
