About this artwork

In this painting, I was inspired by a recent visit to the Whitney Museum in the Meatpacking District of NYC. This view is from one of their outdoor terraces. It was a cloudy day in the middle of winter but the sky was clearing a little in the west, and the sun was shining brightly, in stark contrast to the grey skies.
