About this artwork

Artist Onelio Marrero paints an endearing moment of two young girls having a slumber party. They are reading in a dimly lit room, illuminated only by a flashlight and the fading dusk behind the blinds. My use of lighting and spontaneous brushwork is reminiscent of the styles of Sargent and Sorolla, shares Onelio. The perfect harmony of red, blue, and yellow hues creates an enchanting atmosphere that evokes a sense of nostalgia in the viewer.
