About this artwork

"This painting was inspired by the Tacos vs Burritos – El Luchador restaurant at the corner of John Street and South Street in Lower Manhattan, New York" states artist Nick Savides. Set at night, the scene is illuminated in warm tones. String and neon lights cast green, orange, and red hues complementing the sky-blue interiors. The El Luchador logo depicted by a wrestler is placed four times in different locations. Nick points out how they appear in cut-outs on the railing, brightly lit on the wall, and in the shadows on the sign behind the vehicle.
