About this artwork
Big snow is coming. I remember growing up in Quebec; the coming of snow meant a snow day. No school. A holiday. Festive, fun and full of play. Snow is white, but when I really look, it is all shades of confetti as it reflects trees, sun and sky. I begin this painting with warm gold tones then add layer upon layer. Each day the paint gets thicker and more gestural. The colors are intense, and play off each other. I want to walk right in with my sled and have a spectacular, festive snow day.
