About this artwork

This painting is part of an ongoing series depicting the nature around Teresa Smith's home. Her main considerations as she works are color and shape. A red underpainting shows through in places, she says of this painting. Rock, water and trees were created with a palette knife and painted thick and impasto in places. I love the shapes provided by nature. Best of all are the negative shapes. The places between the branches. I love the sky in this one. A dance of color mirrored in the water.
