About this artwork

Texture and subtle colors carve out an atmospheric background in artist Sharon Sieben's expressive portrait. She paints a woman in a peaceful and meditative state. I may have an idea for the subject but never knows what it will look like until the last layer, says Sharon. She coats oils and pigments and then paints over the surface to reveal an emerging face.
