About this artwork

I was excited to be able to stay in the garden after closing time to paint the sunset over the marsh, shares artist Sherri Aldawood. She painted this view en plein air at Middleton Place in Charleston, South Carolina offering a unique perspective of the marsh from behind luscious trees and thick vegetation. A dappled light shines through, illuminating the pathway and blooms of pink, red, and orange. Fortunately, I wasn't approached by the resident alligators!
