About this artwork

A dramatic desert landscape from a low vantage point gives the iconic Joshua Tree boulders a powerful presence. A dark, twisting tree reaches upward with organic, sculptural energy, silhouetted against the luminous blue sky. In the foreground, quick angular strokes of yellow-green grasses add movement and texture.
