About this artwork

Artist Faye Vander Veer came across this sunny summer moment while traveling in San Francisco. I was drawn to the contrast between light and shadow, and my interest in people, says Faye. Using my understanding of light, color and value, I created visual depth, drawing the viewer into the painting and taking them on a journey down the street to the distant buildings.
