About this artwork

Artist Onelio Marrero visited a place in New Jersey called The Grounds For Sculpture. The gardens there are replete with exotic flora and fauna. Overlapping the property is a pond and a restaurant named after a character in "The Wind in the Willows." This impressionist painting depicts dappled water under trees, the intermittent patches of sunlight beautifully capturing the mood of the book. The scene offers the viewer a sense of movement and color with wonderfully applied impasto strokes.
