Barely a Breeze on Cucumber Beach
About this artwork
A fairytale-like painting of toy robots and dolls reading and playing together on a tropical beach. Concerns over rust or water damage simply melt away in the minds of these friends who cast away fears and embrace the warmth of a summer day on Cucumber Beach, says Diane Flick with a smile. Echoes of 'Miss Avalon, would you please bring me a mai tai? and 'Hey Ezekiel, come bury me in the sand, pal!' blow through the warm summer air along with the sounds of the gentle waves washing away all their cares. This piece was painted over an older, thickly-textured painting so random, charming paint daubs and brush patterns abound.
