About this artwork

Artist Faye Vander Veer presents an old white shingled farmhouse with a tin roof. The piece evokes a strong sense of nostalgia that reminds of simpler times before computers and the internet. You can almost feel the warmth of the summer sun, says Faye. I love looking at old country houses and often wonder about the stories they could tell about the generations who have lived there. Faye simplifies the foreground with quick, expressive brushwork. A pathway leads the viewer to the front porch, inviting them to sit and rest for a while.
