About this artwork

Artist Yelitza Diaz displays a man taking careful steps on a black frame dangling from a concrete-like base. The idea of the fragility of the human being has made me reflect on eternity. We are not only flesh, but we are also spirit, says Yelitza. She displays the concept through a modern representation of an individual's separation from matter. Yelitza uses a figurative sculpture on wood as a nod to recent national events.
