About this artwork
Two nude figures join hands in artist Libby Ramage's arresting primitive piece. The elderly couple braces themselves going into an uncertain future. The first layer of this piece is a map of New Zealand, selected for its Bay of Plenty which appears on the middle right side, says Libby. Collaged handmade paper, feathers, and fabric constitute the image of the large bird, poetically placed to evoke flight and nesting.
