About this artwork
This painting depicts the view from one of Carole Moore's regular morning walks on Bernal Hill in San Francisco. From this vantage, she can see cargo ships in the bay. The artwork is part of her cargo ship series. In these pieces Carole embeds maps and guitar strings to show the music of our one world, and the exchange of ideas and materials that support our lives. I'm reminded of the interconnectedness of our world, and can almost hear the music of the movement of the ships crossing oceans to other continents, Carole says.
