Wild Desert Roses #1
About this artwork
Blooming pink and red roses fill a vibrant panel in this sculptural piece by artist Andrea Cook. Part of her Wild Desert Roses series inspired by the blooming flora of the Sonoran Desert. Andrea creates three-dimensional pieces made with fabric arranged on a wooden surface. In her process, Andrea rips colorful fabric into strips of varying sizes. She then dips each piece into archival glue and forms roses that fill the cradled wood panel. These beautiful colors breathe vibrancy and life into the desert, says Andrea. The bold pinks, corals, oranges, and yellows represent love, courage, grace, health, and happiness.
