About this artwork

Referencing one of her many life drawings, artist Gail Ragains creates an expressive portrait with bold blocks of color. Her subject sits in a relaxed position with one leg tucked under and the other right in front. The triangular shape is completed by having her arm stretched out towards her knee. Gail captures the short pose with little detail focusing on gesture and emotion.
