About this artwork

This mixed media artwork depicts a woman standing with a composed presence, one hand resting on her shoulder. Artist Gail Ragains incorporated pieces of her earlier, torn artwork as collage elements in this abstract composition. Splashes of ink, along with the rips and drips, infuse the piece with energy. Variations of blue hues create the impression of the figure immersed in water.
