About this artwork
Artist Patrick Duffey creates a dialogue between the imagination and removing limiting barriers of distance and various dimensions. The monochromatic painting features straight lines in unique arrangements and varying shades, forming the distinct outlines of crescent moons. The linear marks show how space and light can stretch, reminding us of the expansive cosmos. Sometimes, it's easy to forget that there is a vast and obscure world out there, says Patrick. To grasp at anything too large for its capacity gives the sensation of being small, and that can have a big effect on the self.
