About this artwork

This original tonalist painting presents a landscape that explores the passage of time. One panel depicts a misty forest, where a winding path leads through a dreamlike nature scene. The adjacent panel represents the next chapter of memory. Using a mottled abstract surface to echo the faint silhouette of the forest line, the scene dissolves into complete obscurity as time inevitably moves forward. Artist Candice Eisenfeld applies a matte finish to the painting, although individual brushstrokes may appear satin in certain areas.
