A young woman travels by bus. In the window, it is possible to see the city outside and the lady's reflection as she applies her makeup. Part of artist Javier Ortas's long running series of people enjoying everyday activities, painted from his imagination without any visual references. A common theme in my work is the intimate life of people, explains Javier, moments of solitude and the personal enjoyment of being with oneself. She is in a public space, but she lives in a personal moment and is calm and comfortable, integrated into the environment.Measurements are for the full size paper 27.55 x 19.68, and the approximate painted area is 20.86 x 14.17. Under the painted area in the right corner in pencil is the title of the work in Spanish, Una chica rubia en el autobus, the signature and the year in two digits (11). It is also signed on the back.
