Artwork

Artist Yelitza Diaz exhibits a man climbing a carved wooden structure painted in green. She creates the nude form with resin and paints its body bronze for a metallic impression. The hole depicts a full moon, representing the climber hanging from it and pursuing their wildest dreams. Central to her work, the human figure appears as a universal being, always seeking success and personal and spiritual growth.

Yelitza Diaz

Mauldin, South Carolina

Artist Yelitza Diaz creates sculptural modernist wall pieces where she incorporates ceramic figures. Born in Venezuela, her life has been wrapped in the arts since childhood. She finished her degree at the Arturo Michelena School of Fine Arts, where she grew passionate about the human form. Yelitza devoted her time to her artistic practice and shared her skill as an art teacher in public institutions. She founded a gallery with her husband in her hometown but moved to the United States due to bureaucratic and economic matters. Since then, she has explored human existentialism and the political and social developments of her native country. "My artwork represents the search for peace and emotional balance that we all desire in life," shares Yelitza. She retains a workspace in Venezuela but mainly works at her studio in South Carolina, where she has complete freedom to develop her art. Yelitza’s work has been awarded and recognized by national and international juries. She has also proudly designed the town seal for her native municipality in Venezuela.

I have just discovered your work. Of course it is difficult to get a true feeling for a piece online, and all of them look wonderful to me, but U-14 Wavy Red in particular speaks to me. My art budget only stretches so far, but should you ever be having a sale and be willing to sell this piece for $900 please let me know! Congratulations on your fantastic creations.

I was worried about the safety of the shipment, as this is a fragile piece, but the package arrived packed so well, I was really impressed. It took me a while to unpack it, and when I finally took the artwork out of the box, it looked even better in real life. I love the originality of the piece and how thought provoking it is. It fit beautifully in our living room and matched the decor perfectly. I will definitely consider purchasing more artwork from the same artist in the future.

Passionate about human figure, she makes his sculptures with ceramic techniques with a minimalist-contemporary style, with a clear inclination for human existentialism. With her works she tries to reflect the hope of the universal man, the despair, the most hidden feelings of the human being, the lack of action and reaction, among others. I see myself in the future as a universal artist, recognized and happy to contribute to the world with all the best of myself.
