"The painting depicts a scene in which a father comes for his child who is under the mother's control," shares artist Krzysztof Iwin. "He holds in his hands money, alimony, with which he tries to convince the alienating mother to allow him contact with the child. It is a social pathology that destroys society from within, destroys family ties and parental relationships."

Krzysztof Iwin is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, Poland. His body of work is largely figurative with elements of surrealism. Showing frozen fragments of a reality that does not exist, Krzysztof attempts to capture the menacing, sometimes macabre beauty of the search for meaning.

This is one of the funniest/most tragic paintings I've ever seen. I have literally been laughing out loud. I'm a psychotherapist who sometimes works with couples, and I have seen this scene many times in my office.
