The Fern Flower
About this artwork
A figure with long flowing green hair gently bends over her discovery of a rare flower that blooms once a year. Artist Krzysztof Iwin paints this piece refering to Slavic beliefs. It is a mythical, legendary flower that is supposed to bloom once a year during the summer solstice, the shortest night of the year, explains Krzysztof. The finder was to provide wealth and abundance, which made their search a permanent element of the celebration of the Slavic festival of Kupala.
