About this artwork

This is a tenement building on Saint Marks Place in the East Village, the site of the cover photo of Led Zeppelin's 1975 album Physical Graffiti, and currently the site of a tea shop called Physical GraffiTea, explains artist Nick Savides. The light is basically indirect from above, with some areas spot lit by reflections, however it is a bright sunny day, which is evident from the window reflections. Each window gives us a glimpse, though sometimes distorted, of the opposing view.
