About this artwork

Softly rolling hills of Kentucky are the inspiration for this piece. It is my favorite time of year and each spring the lush bluegrass has a sense of renewal. Distant hills are softened by the moisture in the air. Atypical of traditional watercolor, the upper area of the painting is glazed with a mixture of blue and Chinese white watercolor to attain the moist effect.
