About this artwork

The watercolor painting depicts the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul in Brno, overlooking the city from atop a hill. Its Romanesque architecture and twin Gothic towers stand out above the surrounding rooftops. Artist Maximilian Damico painted the scene on location using a wet-on-wet technique. Soft washes and expressive brushstrokes capture the feeling of the place.
