About this artwork

"Istanbul is a city of contradiction and beauty. But nothing compares to its wonderful architecture by the water," says artist James Nyika. "The old Constantinople was built with gentle echos of water on its roofs and delightful flashes of gold and cinnabar everywhere. This picture is meant to evoke the mystical experience of the orient juxtaposed on the modern world represented by the bridge."
