About this artwork
Expressionist linocut printmaking of a figure deep in thought. His face dictated but also obscured by the quick black line work. Natalia describes the creation process of this piece as the essence of up-to-now actions, attempts taken and experiments with the matter. She used a technique she describes as 'automatic drawing' where vigorous lines make up the face. The black starts to dominate in the work, and the current passion of the empty and untouched space is put slowly aside. Printed by hand on Velin d'Arches paper using Charbonnel ink.
