About this artwork

Snowstorms in New Jersey inspired artist Onelio Marrero to paint this winter landscape and convey a scene of solitude. A man stands on a nearly frozen river as he tends a fire on a natural outcropping of snow-covered boulders. Snow partially obscures the trees along the far bank. The energetic brushstrokes and the subtleties of floating embers and snowy branches add life to this quiet scene.
